A week or two back, I had the honour of attending the UK premiere of 'The Devil Dared Me To' (that sounds quite flash, whereas it actually took place in the back-room of Filthy McNasties pub in Angel...), a f*cking hilarious and really rather good film from these chaps .
The world premiere was at SXSW, where it got a standing ovation. It also got a cracking review on Ain't It Cool. We'll let you know release dates etc (AT, drop me a line, huh?) but meanwhile here's the trailer:
Earlier today I watched the trailer for 'Eagle vs Shark' -the wonderfully awkward (& Miramax-funded) debut from Oscar-nominated director/actor/comedian/Wellingtonian Taika Waititi:
And then we have Mr Jonathan King's ovine schlock-horror fest, 'Black Sheep', featuring special effects from Peter Jackson's Weta Workshop:
Good work, fellas!.
On the subject of trailers - and just to qualify I wasn't making up the story of Michelle Pfeiffer's imminent return to the siver screen last night over those vodkas Jason - here is the trailer to the Stardust film based on Sandman creator Neil Gaiman's novel.
I am trying to think of a collective word for the glitterati assembled here: Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sienna Miller, Robert DeNiro, Ian McKellen, Peter O'Toole, Rupert Everett, Ricky Gervais and David Walliams are all among the cast.
Speaking of keeping it in the family: it's directed by Michael Vaughan (Claudia Schiffer's beau) who wrote it with Jane Goldman, wife of.... Jonathan Ross.

It might actually be good, me thinks. At least I am already sure it will be much better than the St. Trinian's reworking currently being filmed in central London. That looks atrocious....

It's like all of a sudden we've figured out how to do comedy.
I wonder why it's taken this long?

Totally agree, Cleaver. There's a newfound confidence and strength of voice...
Maybe its a post-LOTR renaissance?
