Sleazy Listening Sunday Session

Righto -back from Marrakech and back at work (ouch).

I'll pop some photos from the trip up later in the week (it was amazing yadda yadda yadda), but thought that I should give you all the heads up about our next gig -y'know, playing records and stuff.

Automatic (my good buddy and old DJ partner) is in town (all the way from from Aotearoa, ladies and gentlemen) and we're playing the Lockside Lounge in Camden from 4pm till midnight this Sunday (8th April).

We're thinking about easing through the late afternoon with a little reggae and soul, and then getting a bit louder/funkier/drunker as the night progresses.

Should be fun -and remember -Monday is a holiday.

Normal service will resume next week

It's been a long winter and it's time for a wee holiday, so we're off to Marrakech to relax in the sun. A break from work, a break from London and, yes, a break from blogging (I'll be sure to bore you all with my holiday snaps when I return).

Before I head off though, a quick heads-up on the Sleazy Listening tip:

There will be a fresh podcast very soon (my good buddy and old DJ partner Automatic is in town, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity). Plus we'll be out playing some records on Sunday 8th April -stay tuned for details.

As promised, I sat down today and created the first Sleazy Listening podcast... 47-odd minutes of dirty grooves. It was kinda fun, but rather different from doing live radio, as you keep wanting to re-record bits and otherwise faff about... Hopefully as I get my head around Garageband better, I'll be able to achieve a better flow.

I'll try to get episode two out in a couple of weeks... I'm thinking perhaps a version excursion, exclusively of obscure/rare/odd cover versions (all suggestions welcome).
